The Thermophysics Facilities Branch provides Ground-Based Hyperthermal and Hypervelocity Environments.

These environments are archived using two separate types of test facilities.  Those facilities are as fo9llows: 

Arc Jet Complex of facilities
  - Interaction Heating Facility (IHF)

  - Panel Test Facility (PTF)

  - Aerodynamic Heating Facility (AHF)

Range Complex of facilities
  - Hypervelocity Free-Flight Aerodynamic Facility (HFFAF)

  - Ames Vertical Gun Range (AVGR)

  - Electric Arc Shock Tube (EAST)
